College Football Teams Unbeaten FBS In 2022

We started with 131 college football teams hoping not to beat this FBS season. With the events of Week 7 approaching, only 15 perfect teams remain. What used to be a long list is now an exclusive list that is constantly shrinking.

Here’s a look at all the remaining unbeaten FBS teams this season. Teams are listed in order by AP Rank, followed by alphabetical order if not in the top 25.

College Football Teams Unbeaten FBS In 2022

No. 1 Georgia

Next game: vs Vanderbilt | 3:30 pm on Saturday 15 October
The hardest games left: vs. TN (November 5); in Kentucky (November 19)
The last unbeaten season: 1980 (12-0, won the national title)

The defending Bulldogs appeared in the early part of the season, including defeating seeded Oregon. But Georgia has struggled in the last two of the past three weeks against Kent State and especially Missouri. However, the Bulldogs made a comeback with second-half dominance against Auburn who remained undefeated and favorite for the title.

No. 2 Ohio

The hardest games left: in Pennsylvania (October 29); vs Michigan (November 26)
The last unbeaten season: 2012 (12-0)

The Buckeyes have yet to be tested, though a road trip to Happy Valley is set for the last week of the month. QB CJ Stroud threw for six touchdowns in his last game.

No. 3 Alabama

The last unbeaten season: 2020 (13-0, won the CFP National title)

Alabama QB winner Bryce Young lost Heisman through injury, but the tides still won a lot in Arkansas last week thanks to RB Jahmyr Gibbs (206 flowing yards, two TDs). Four currently ranked teams are still on the schedule, but that doesn’t include Texas A&M and rival Auburn.

No. 4 Clemson

last game: Dave. Boston College, 31-3
Next game: in Florida | 7:30 pm on Saturday 15 October
The hardest games left: in Florida (October 15); In Notre Dame (5 November)
The last unbeaten season: 2018 (15-0, CFP national title win)

The Tigers passed the North Carolina State Test to claim back-to-back wins against seeded teams (it was Wake Forest the week before). Clemson has tough competition ahead as she looks to return to the top of the ACC.

No. 5 Michigan

The hardest games left: opposite Pennsylvania (October 15); In Ohio (November 26)
The last unbeaten season: 1997 (12-0, won the AP National title)

The Wolverines are hoping to pursue the Big Ten title and make the playoffs with another good run this year. So far, Michigan is still in the mix, though the Pennsylvania State and Ohio State Games will decide that fate. Through six games, RB Blake Corum has 735 dash yards and 11 touchdowns.

No. 6 Tennessee

The hardest games left: vs. Alabama (October 15); in Georgia (November 5)
The last unbeaten season: 1998 (13-0, won the BCS National title)

The Volunteers seemed part of the title contender with a dominant 27-point win at LSU. Vols piled up 501 yards down the road, led by Hendon Hooker 239 passing yards and 63 rushing yards. But now the big test is next: the highest ranking in Alabama.

No. 7 Southern California

Next game: in Utah | 8 p.m. on Saturday 15 October
The hardest games left: in Utah (October 15); at UCLA (November 19)
The last unbeaten season: 2004 (vacated)

Other than winning 17-14 at Oregon, scoring was not an issue for the Trojans. However, the Pac-12 has some potential pits for USC as the program looks for a splash in Lincoln Riley’s first season.

No. 8 Oklahoma State

The hardest games left: in TCU (October 15); in Oklahoma (November 19)
The last unbeaten season: 1945 (9-0)

The Cowboys are coming off a tough home win over Texas Tech, but Oklahoma State still has tough dates ahead. There are still Texas and Oklahoma, but those aren’t even the three currently ranked teams that are yet to come (TCU, Kansas State, and Kansas).

No. 9 Ole Miss

last game: Dave. Vanderbilt, 52-28
Next game: Opposite Auburn | 12 noon on Saturday 15 October
The hardest games left: at LSU (October 22); vs Alabama (November 12)
The last unbeaten season: 1962 (10-0)

The Rebels pulled out of Vanderbilt in the second half and have a manageable match then against Auburn before the schedule begins in the second half of October. But any hopes of SEC West will depend on their home game against Alabama on November 12.

No. 10 Pennsylvania

The last unbeaten season: 1994 (12-0)

Pennsylvania had circulation problems in bad weather, but the Nittany Lions’ defense held firm to hold off the Northwest. After a week off, Penn State is having its first Big Ten roster game when PSU visits Michigan.

No. 11 UCLA

The hardest games left: in Oregon (October 22); vs USC (November 19)
The last unbeaten season: 1954 (9-0)

The Bruins scored at least 32 points in all five wins, most recently 42 points to no. 11 Utah. However, the resurrected Pac-12 will continue to perform major UCLA tests. Next, Oregon.

No. 13 TCU

Hit the TCU Rocket Oklahoma in the Top 25 Matches and Ranked vs. Match….Ks. Then TCU held a thrilling 38-31 . win With College GameDay in attendance. WR Quentin Johnston had a career day with 14 catches for 206 yards and touchdowns.

No. 18 Syracuse

The last unbeaten season: 1987 (11-0-1)

Orange recently had close wins against Bordeaux and Virginia, so FCS Wagner’s 59-0 defeat should be welcome. However, the remaining schedule is tricky, as it begins with back-to-back games against seeded North Carolina State and Clemson.

No. 25 James Madison

The last unbeaten season: 1975 (9-0)

Not bad for a first season on FBS. The Dukes aren’t eligible for the championship while they’re in transition, but they’ve come out and won a lot so far.

Coastal Carolina

The last unbeaten season: Start

Two Sun Belt schools are on the list. The first is Coastal Carolina led by star QB Grayson McCall. In his first five games, he threw 14 passing touchdowns for only one interception, while he added three touchdowns quickly.
