Grammy Award-winning music producer Max Adam Lord has been charged with felony possession of assault weapons and silencers weeks after a barricade incident at his studio.
Lord, 30, and Diavonte Kimble, 30, were arrested after setting up a roadblock where a LAPD SWAT team was called and found “several assault rifles, handguns, 3 firearm suppressors, high-capacity magazines, assault rifle construction parts/components, and thousands of rounds of ammunition” in January 4.
Lorde, 30, is best known for his work on Juice Wrld’s posthumous album Legends Never Die and for working with major artists like Cardi B, Future, and Travis Scott.
In California, possession of an assault weapon can be punished with three years in prison and a $10,000 fine, according to one local law agency.

Lord faces eight counts of felony possession of an assault weapon and four counts of possession of a silencer, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office.
Prosecutor Georges Gascon said in a statement Friday.
The criminal complaint states that Lord, part of the massively successful music-producing group 808Mafia, was found with semi-automatic rifles, variable AR-style semi-automatic pistols and firearm silencers.
“Assault weapons and devices that stamp a firearm are illegal in California,” Gascon said. “The prevalence of firearms has skyrocketed since the beginning of the pandemic.”
In an interview with Los Angeles TimesLorde said he was hosting Kimble when SWAT stormed the studio at around 5.20am.

According to Ward, the raid stemmed from warrants relating to Kimble.
They’ve got a warrant for accommodation [Kimble] there was. It’s my studio. Basically, I was dragged into it because of another warrant [for Kimble]Lord said.
Kimble has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon by Los Angeles, but police have not provided additional insight into the incident.
He was also charged with parole. Sponsorship cancelled.
Lord told the Los Angeles Times that he was unaware of the deadly weapons charge when asked.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Kimble was arrested in 2018 on suspicion of illegal firearm possession along with rapper G Herbo.

Kimble was charged with two criminal counts, each of false imprisonment, possession of a firearm with a prior criminal conviction, and resisting arrest.
According to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office, he has also been charged with one misdemeanor count of fleeing arrest.
He pleaded not guilty and will appear on Monday Airport Branch Court.
Jail records indicate Kimble has not posted bail since his Jan. 4 arrest.

When asked by the Los Angeles Times about the guns and ammunition found in his studio, Lord declined to comment.

“We must do everything we can to get these guns off the streets and out of the hands of those who don’t legally have them,” Gascon said.
