Nate Burleson was on CBS Morning Since September 2021 And it gave him another platform to show off his talent and his voice in the media. It also caused him to have a different schedule than when he was in Good morning, soccer on NFL Network.
Burleson was a guest star on the latest episode of R2C2 Podcast with Ryan Ruocco and CC Sabathia He said he wanted to be the first in the building every weekday morning because more preparatory work needed to be done on anything that could instantly happen on the news.
“News schedule, I’m waking up a little earlier. L.L Good morning, soccerI would wake up around 4:45. Now, I get up at 4 am. I want to enter the city. I like to be the first person in the studio so I can get ready for the show.
“In football, there’s this revolving door of information that we live in because we’re in football. But, when you’re in the news business, you have to be aware of everything, it could be national social issues, it could be international weather, It might even be politics one day.
“You go to sleep and you have one thing going on in your mind thinking you know what the show is going to be. Then you wake up and we pretty much tear the show up and start a new main block because something happened overnight. Then, not to mention there are guests.”
Burleson has stated that he wants to be prepared for anything because his greatest fear is not knowing about a news topic being discussed and proving his doubters right.
“I think what scares me the most is getting 30 seconds and not doing my homework or not knowing a certain subject, and then in 30 seconds, I lose it. That’s what I think about every day. On the news, I don’t want this judgment to be saying ‘Gotcha,'” I told you he didn’t know what he was doing, I told you he didn’t belong there.”
“It’s one of those shows where you have to be on your toes. It’s two hours, but there’s not a lot of time for us to just talk. This isn’t a sports show, so we don’t argue about anything. We’re just front row seats to the news and then we relay that.” News to the viewer.
while on Good morning soccer, Burleson was able to talk about more than just the NFL and it allowed him to open up more of his personality to the viewer.
“When I got into television, I realized that my voice is unique. We are all very similar in the sense that we may like a particular sport as people identify us with that sport, but we are addicted to the sport. I had all these different loves. All these different things I felt like talking about. I couldn’t do that if I only played football.
After that, I started to open up more Good morning, soccer And thanks to NFL Network because I started showing my love for hip-hop and writing poetry and then I started talking about investing. As I began to open up about myself, it seemed that the world in the media space began to do the same.
In the end, Burleson is grateful for the opportunities Good morning, soccer He introduces it to him and tells Ruocco and Sabathia that the show allowed everyone in the group to be themselves and that there is more than one way to have a hit show.
“I’m thankful for this show. It was unique at first because only four people talk about football but the more we get involved in it, the more the show allows it to be just us. It’s not as straight and traditional as it used to be. This doesn’t take into account what television used to be.” And media and radio before, but there’s a twist. You can do both. You can wear a suit and tie and talk about hardcore X and O’s, but then you can also just dress up and put on a hoodie and give the same kind of emotion and talk about whatever other sport you like.”
