Bar, Fatu – For the first time in over 12 years, the US-Canadian Tour is bringing a second road touring division to some of the biggest auto racing events in all of New England.
Following the success of the Ammonoosuc Asphalt Mini Late Model class at ACT-certified White Mountain (NH) Motorsports Park, ACT officials announced the formation of the Mighty Mini Series on Monday.
The newly discovered Mini Stock Series will be going wet at Hickory Motor Speedway in North Carolina this coming March. Along with the special events of the US-Canadian Tour and the Pro All Stars Series, the Mighty Mini Series joins in a pair of unspecified show events from March 17-18.
The Point Counting season officially begins April 1 on the first day of the 49th Icebreaker Weekend at Thompson Speedway in Connecticut. A five-eighths-mile sprint oval in northeastern Connecticut will host the inaugural Mighty Mini Series event as part of Sunoco World Series 61 Speedway on October 8.
Following Icebreaker, Mighty Mini Stocks entered ‘The Magic Mile,’ New Hampshire Motor Speedway, in the third annual Northeast Classic on April 15.
The Mighty Mini Series returns to its home base in New Hampshire to battle against the faithful Ammonoosuc Asphalt Mini Late Model at White Mountain Motorsports Park for back-to-back events in June and July. June 3 makes a doubleheader as Mighty Minis compete alongside WMMP Flying Tiger Triple Crown Series opener while July 22 will be a $1,000 special to win at the iconic North Country bullring.
August will see the series take a trip to the big stage at Oxford Plains Highway in Maine. The powerful four-cylinder will be on display alongside one of New England’s crown jewel events, the 50th annual Oxford 250 event on August 27.
One week later, the Mighty Mini Series will come home to the ACT Championship Stock Car Race in the Labor Day Classic 45 presented by the New England Federal Credit Union at Thunder Road on September 3.
“We were lucky enough to do a test run last season with a five-race series at White Mountain Motorsports Park,” said Chris Michaud, Managing Partner of US-Canadian Tours. “We had many discussions with these drivers and it quickly became clear that they wanted to get back into touring racing while maintaining a strong home base at White Mountain.”
As with the US-Canadian Tour and Serie ACT Quebec, the Mighty Mini Series points fund will only be paid to 100% of participants attempting to qualify in all seven point counting events in 2023.
