NFL, college football, golf, and NASCAR package for your weekend sports slate

MIAMI, Sept 16 (UPI) – More than 100 college football and NFL games, and dozens of MLB, soccer, and LIV golf tournament games fill the weekend sports schedule.

A boxing title fight and a playoff race from the NASCAR Cup Series will also be broadcast.

But the college football slate and the NFL’s regular classes are in full swing, with thousands of athletes set to invade fields across the country Friday through Sunday.

The second week of the NFL kicks off Thursday, with the Kansas City Chiefs facing the Los Angeles Chargers. Three college games will be broadcast on Friday, with 220 other teams to face off on Saturday.

Thirteen of the 16 games will be broadcast from Week Two Sunday afternoon through Sunday evening.

football

Florida will battle Louisville in one of the three games scheduled for Friday night. That match will begin at 7:30 PM EST and will be broadcast on ESPN.

Georgia, second in the coaches poll, will face South Carolina Saturday noon EST on ESPN. Number 14 BYU will meet Number 24 Oregon at 3:30 p.m. on Fox.

1 Alabama will host UL Monroe at 4 p.m. on the SEC Network. Ohio State No. 3 will face Toledo at 7 p.m. on Fox.

In the NFL, Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens will face the Miami Dolphins in one of seven games scheduled at 1 p.m. EST on Sunday. This game will be broadcast on CBS.

Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will face the New Orleans Saints at the same time on Fox.

The Dallas Cowboys will host the Cincinnati Bengals at 4:25 p.m. on CBS. Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers will host the Chicago Bears at 8:20 p.m. Sunday on NBC.

Week two will also include two Monday night games. The Buffalo Bills will host the Tennessee Titans at 7:15 p.m. on ESPN. The Philadelphia Eagles host the Minnesota Vikings at 8:30 p.m. on ABC.

Leaf golf

The fifth championship of the controversial LIV Golf Invitational Series will take place Friday through Sunday in Sugar Grove, Ill. LIV Golf Chicago will broadcast at 1 PM EST daily on DAZN, LIVGolf.com, and on the LIV Golf YouTube and Facebook pages.

The winner of LIV Golf Chicago will receive a first place prize of $4 million. The second and third places will receive $2.1 and $1.5 million, respectively.

Cameron Smith, the number 3 golfer in the world golf rankings, is a 48-player field favourite. #23 Dustin Johnson, #20 Joaquin Neiman, #35 Taylor Gotsch, #50 Patrick Reed are among the other top 5 candidates.

NASCAR Qualifiers

The Round of 16 of the NASCAR Cup Series will conclude on Saturday evening at Bristol Motor Speedway. The Bass Pro Shops Night Race will air at 7:30pm EST on USA Network.

Denny Hamlin is a favourite. Expected contenders include Chase Elliott, Kyle Larson, Kyle Bush and Kevin Harvick.

Four drivers will be disqualified from the AutoTrader EchoPark Automotive 500 next week, the first race of the round of 12.

Bosch, Austin Dillon, Chase Briscoe and Harvick are the last four drivers in the current standings.
