Baby news: The tabloid broke the news of Meri’s pregnancy in June, following speculation that Rafael’s wife (pictured on June 3) was expecting her after she was seen wearing loose clothing.
The health of former insurance worker Meri has been the focus of attention in the Spanish press in recent weeks, which intensified after Nadal withdrew from the Laver Cup for personal reasons after helping the tennis world bid farewell to retired superstar Roger Federer.
It emerged at the end of August that she had entered a private clinic in Palma, the capital of Mallorca, when she entered the 31st week of her pregnancy.
Reports at the time said doctors decided to monitor her as a precaution.
But Rafael’s sister Maribel Nadal said on Tuesday that Meri was in very good shape when she left a party in Madrid attended by Queen Letizia of Spain where she represented the Rafa Nadal Foundation.

She is known as an incredibly private person. The estate that the Spanish couple chose to marry, La Fortaleza overlooking the Gulf of Pollensa in northeastern Mallorca, was where Real Madrid star Gareth Bale held the knot with Emma Rhys-Jones in June 2019 as part of a three-day celebration.
The couple, who had already been dating 14 years before their marriage, were married by Reverend Tomio Catala in front of 350 guests at the stunning castle, owned by Tory benefactor Lord Lupton.

Juan Carlos I, King of Spain from 1975 to 2014, was among those in attendance at the wedding because he is an old friend of the tennis ace.
At the ceremony, Raphael looked elegant in a navy suit and white shirt, while Mary wore a long-sleeved dress designed by Rosa Clara, the famous bridal designer.
La Fortaleza has proven to be a highly coveted A-list destination, as the acclaimed BBC thriller The Night Manager, starring Tom Hiddleston, Hugh Laurie and Olivia Colman, has also been filmed.
Overlooking the Bay of Pollensa in north-east Mallorca, Lord Lupton bought La Fortaleza in 2011 for £30m, despite the original asking price of £75m.
The original fortress, now Spain’s most valuable possession, was built in 1628 to defend Mallorca against invaders.
Raphael revealed in January 2019 that he was engaged to his long-term girlfriend Meri after 14 years of courtship.

But the dedicated athlete admitted that his tennis career made it difficult to think of starting a family in the past.
He said, “I like to have children, boys, girls… I am a person who loves children and I am a family man.
“But I also tell you the truth is that the years go by, I’d like to start doing all of this when my sporting life defines it.”
He told Essentially Sports, at the end of 2018, ‘I have a girlfriend too and I’m not alone in making decisions. (sic)
Family: Rafael (pictured in 2015) has made no secret of his desire to have children, saying he is a ‘family man’ and looks forward to having a brood of his own.
You have to fit the situations you know. To have a family? I don’t know, it’s not easy to predict. At this age, I thought I was already going to be a former player and that I was going to be a family.
Merry, who is known as an incredibly private person, spoke about her relationship with the tennis champion in 2011.
She told The Telegraph in a rare interview: “Traveling everywhere together, even if I could, wouldn’t be good for him or me.
He needs his space when he’s competing, and the idea of me walking around waiting for his needs all day exhausts me. It will suffocate me.
“And then he should worry about me…no. If I follow him everywhere, I think there is a risk that we may stop coexisting.”
