Samsung’s Flex Hybrid concept folds on one side.
samsung screen
Samsung gave us a look at a tantalizing concept for mobile devices, Flexible Hybrid. As the model above shows, the left side of the Flex Hybrid can be folded, like Galaxy Foldwhile the right side can slide out to expand itself.
The concept comes from Samsung Display, not the mobile arm of the South Korean giant responsible for manufacturing and selling phones. But the press release The concept show promised will bring to CES “innovative OLED products of all sizes, small, medium and large, to provide a glimpse into the future of displays.” Samsung isn’t the only company changing the future of phones – see TCL’s 2020 display — so watch this space for more flipping, folding, and scrolling devices.

3D laptop (without glasses)

Asus joins Acer for glasses-free 3D gaming laptops, but pegs the bandwagon with OLED instead of IPS.
Asus
Images appear on the screen of this ASUS laptop Not literally, but close. Its OLED screen produces a 3D experience without glasses, much like Acer’s similar IPS version. The OLED screen is important because the technology promises a clearer 3D display. Aimed at creatives, the Asus 3D Pad uses eye tracking to produce a 3D experience.
Smartwatches want to know if you’re OK

The Citizen CZ Smartwatch debuted at CES and will arrive in the US in March.
citizen
Smartwatches abound for tracking heart rate, sleep quality, and blood oxygen levels, but Citizen takes it a step further by CZ smart watch, which also measures levels of fatigue and alertness. He’ll even tell you your timeline – that is, whether you are a night owl or an early bird. It’s another sign that smartwatch makers are focusing more and more on measuring the impact of sleep and stress on general well-being.
The world’s thinnest gaming laptop
The Alienware x14 is the world’s thinnest 14-inch gaming laptop.
Josh Goldman/CNET
Alienware surprised us Four new laptops ahead of CES, including the Alienware x14, which the company said is the world’s thinnest 14-inch gaming laptop. It features a 2560 x 1600-pixel display with a 165Hz refresh rate, and will retail for $1,799 when shipping this winter. The larger version, the Alienware x16, starts at $3,099. These laptops are for people who are willing to sacrifice some power for slimmer designs.
Invisible laptop touchpads

The LG Gram’s hidden trackpad lights up under your fingertips.
LG
LG offered New Gram laptop, which has a hidden touchpad that only appears when you touch the palm rest. The subtle touchpad lights up under your fingers when you touch them, showing you where to tap and drag to navigate the screen. It’s a subtle detail we didn’t know we wanted.
A huge leap for PC gamers who also use consoles
Dell Nyx Concept Console.
Josh Goldman/CNET
Dale Concept Nyx gaming controller At first glance it looks like just another third-party Xbox console, albeit with some fancy lights. Unfortunately, it is more than that. The Nyx console is tricked out with a set of hidden inputs, which double the functionality of the console.
The idea seems to be to bridge the gap between the gamepad and the keyboard. PC gamers can use hotkey settings to get dozens of inputs, far more than a typical gamepad, which is often limited to the options offered by a d-pad. This means that they can use a wider range of attacks in an MMO, for example, or cycle through six or seven guns in a first-person shooter instead of the two or three that console gamers are usually limited to.
Roku entered the chat

Roku will now make its own televisions.
Rocco
Roku has announced that it is expanding into televisionsIt mainly competes with its own partnerships with the most popular TV makers such as TCL, Hisense and Sharp. The move has been long rumored and makes a lot of sense for the streaming device maker. Roku TVs will come with the branding Voice remoteswhich include the common (and always useful) Find my remote feature. Looks like LG and Samsung have some new competition.
Television that shames others

As if a 97-inch OLED TV wasn’t enough, LG went and made it wireless.
LG
It is the largest OLED TV in the world: LG 97-inch model It was actually revealed last year, but in 2023 it goes wireless. This means that the world’s largest screen with the best picture technology allows is now free of that unsightly jumble of wires. We’ve been covering TVs at CES for years, and even we were surprised—CNET’s TV expert David Katzmaier was impressed, saying that LG puts all other TVs to shame with this one.
Upgrades come to the brains of your laptop

The 13th generation Intel announcements tell us a lot about upcoming laptops.
Intel
Sleek displays and dazzling displays are great, but often the tech you don’t see is the most important. Intel has unveiled a boatload of New thirteenth generation processorswhich will power a wide range of products and improve performance on a wide range of laptops.
Less abstract from a chip’s performance are the upgrades it can produce. The new generation of Intel CPUs brings with it Unison, which lets iPhone and Android devices send and receive texts from your computer, as well as Thunderbolt 4, which among other improvements will mark the ability to run two external 4K displays as standard. Expect to see these features in product announcements over the next few days.
Cloud gaming, now in your car

Brings Nvidia GeForce Now to your car.
nvidia
One of Nvidia’s biggest announcements is improvements to GeForce Now, its cloud gaming service, which lets you stream games to laptops, phones, and more. In short, Nvidia’s GeForce 4080 GPU power comes to the cloud. If you subscribe to the premium tier of GeForce Now — known from now on as GeForce Now Ultimate — you can now stream games at 240Hz, use ray tracing (which dramatically improves how light is displayed in-game) and DLSS 3 (which uses an algorithm to boost the rate of frames while preserving image quality).
Plus, GeForce Now is coming to… cars. If your car has a screen on the dashboard, you can play while the car is parked in a parking lot. If there are screens behind the driver’s or passenger’s seats, those sitting in the back can play on the go. For starters, Nvidia has partnered with Hyundai, BYB, and Polestar.
