The Tigers beat the White Sox 3-2 over Reyes’ deep fly for 10th

DETROIT (AP) – Victor Reyes fired a deep fly into midfield in the 10th inning, auto sprinter Ryan Criddler scored from third base and gave the Detroit Tigers a 3-2 win over the Chicago White Sox on Friday night.

“This is a great victory – there is no doubt about it,” said Tigers manager AJ Hinch. “Whether you love or hate the overtime rule, it creates a lot of action. That was a fun way to win the match.”

The White Sox fell four games behind the Cleveland Guardians at AL Central.

“We can’t think of what Minnesota and Cleveland are doing unless we play with them,” said interim manager Miguel Cairo. “We can only focus on winning the game we’re playing.”
