Under Armor to invest $1.5 million in minority training alliance

There are very few black coaches in college football. In a sport that’s nearly 50% black at player level, black men hold only 15 of FBS’ 131 jobs. According to the NCAA’s Race and Gender Database, 61% of SEC football players are black, yet there are no black coaches in one of the richest and certainly most successful conferences in the sport. Qualified black coaches exist, but the onus is on athletic directors to pursue and hire them.
