UniteCT gets a funding boost, saving more money for CT tenants

Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont’s office announced Tuesday that the Connecticut Rent Assistance Program has received an $11 million increase in funding from the federal government, meaning that more aid will be available to renters in need.

Initially, UniteCT received about $400 million from the 2021 Consolidated Appropriations Act and the US Bailout Act. Over the past few months, the US Treasury has redistributed money from states and localities that have been slow to spend their money.
