20:00 – Back to the third, Kings and Efes are all square!
18:00 – Jacob Ingham comes up with another fancy glove to save a chance on the doorstep. Save big for starting period.
14:56 – The Kings had their third strongest play of the day, with Colorado’s Brayden Schmidt knocking out.
14:29 – While trying to recover the defense, Brandt Clark is called in to intervene. 4 on 4 play.
13:48 – A straight back save for Ingham at the start of 4-on-4. He used his big tire while tracking the disc through the entire opportunity.
8:56 am – LAK has made a profound transformation in the COL region resulting in multiple opportunities for Lee-Helenius-Jamsen. Anunin was tough about the tuck to keep it an even game.
8:48 – Olausson called for the cut after he removed Byfield’s wand from his hands. PP Kings earns late.
7:51 – As they return to their territory, the Kings are called up for a penalty and again it will be a 4v4 game. Taylor Ward skates for interference, summoned while in a fight for the puck.
6:35 am – Colorado’s Ben Myers called for comment. PP Kings will have an abbreviation after 4 on 4 endings.
20:00 – TechCU’s second half begins, with the Rising Kings trailing by a goal.
19:30 – The first penalty in the afternoon goes to Jamsen, who has been called to hold.
17:15 – Kings are killed! Great job from Ingham, who officially got 4 saves during the feature.
15:35 – The avalanche returns to the power game after Stefan drops a man behind the net. LAK was stuck in its own area for the most part during the early period of the middle period.
13:30 – Nice PK turnarounds by Madden, Helenius and others lead to a second successive penalty shootout in Los Angeles. The Kings have yet to have a shot on target in that period, but they can feel good about the way they defended when one of them falls.
11:32 – And now the Kings have the chance to play their own Power! Colorado player Michael Deutt heads for a break.
9:44 – LAK Goal, Ward. It didn’t take long for a PP unit stacked with Byfield, Clarke, Madden and Ward to click. They won a showdown and went to work, eventually hooking up the game. Ward’s shot came from feeding Clark, who earned a second assist in the match.
8:54 am – The Kings are back straight into the power game as Colorado’s Gabi Klassen is called to intervene near the Los Angeles Network.
5:26 – Some good time for the LAK, but the second man’s advantage wasn’t as successful as the first. Shots in the period now are 7-7.
1:03 – Another penalty kick for Kings ended, highlighted by more saves by Jacob Ingham. The third-year pro has had an excellent second spell and looks confident.
0:00 – The Kings used three penalty kicks in the period to keep Colorado off the board and the game tied 2-2 within 40 minutes. Shots are 23-20 in favor of the avalanche at the end of the second.
The first period
20:00 – Running in San Jose!
18:02 – The first big rescue of the day goes to Yaqoub Ingham! He stopped the Colorado right wing’s chance to keep the game goalless early on.
15:34 – Landon Kosior scored the first shot on goal for LAK. The play was set up by Taylor Ward, who was a few seconds late at the end of the attack before turning the disc onto the circuit for his chance.
14:05 – The Kings’ best look came early on when Byfield took the ball disc from the left wing into the net. He tried to break goalkeeper Justus Annunen, but was unable to finish the match. After this opportunity, LAK cast a few more glances at the net that Anunin shut down.
10:55 – The fourth line of Kings had a major shift in the attack area, bringing the Eves back to their end. Shots on target near the halfway point read LAK 8, SJ 4.
8:55 – LAK target, Pinelli. Nice centering feed up front by Brandt Clarke which has been redirected to the lower right corner of the grille. Kim Nousiainen took credit for the second assist in the play.
5:31 – Avalanche goal, Olson. Turning around in the Kings’ offensive blue line caused a long shift in their area and they were never able to recover, even after they got some warnings from Ingham.
4:56 – Avalanche Jules, Ranta. Colorado doubles, scoring for the second time in less than a minute with a shot from the top of the left circle that found its way under the tune.
0:00 – Despite a good start, the Kings found themselves behind after the opening period due to a pair of goals allowed 23 seconds apart. This late dash from the Avs took Colorado a 13-10 lead on shots on target after 20 minutes.
